BMX Mania Stolen Camera Fund

 has been an integral part of the BMX Racing community since 1996.  Jerry has traveled throughout the world for the last 20 years taking action shots of racers – and not just for the pros, but of riders of all proficiencies, making high quality race photos at no cost available to riders and their families.  Through the BMXMania website, Jerry also provides the racing community with photo race reports and recaps so that we can all get great insight into racing across the globe.

Jerry has frequented high level events such as the Olympic Games and yet finds himself snapping photos of local races at Hire Park BMX in Warsaw, Indiana.  Anyone who knows Jerry knows his passion for the sport, and that he knows how to make us all look good on the track.

Behind the camera, you’ll find a kind, caring, compassionate and fun-loving person.  Jerry’s very passionate about community and supporting riders which is evident in the work he’s put in over the last 20 years through training camps, his team, and even hosting a large number of riders at his home.

At the 2016 World Championships in Medellin, Columbia, Jerry was taking pictures of amateur “challenge” riders when he briefly set down his equipment in the infield.  This has been a standard practice for BMX media staff since the beginning as it’s a very tight knit and trusting community.  However, when Jerry returned to his equipment, it was nowhere to be found.

While this broken trust is disappointing, this is also an opportunity for the BMX Community to pull together and help one its greatest supporters and advocates.  If you might be able to support Jerry in replacing his equipment, we can all get back to scouring BMXMania photo albums to see if we can find ourselves.  Any help is sincerely appreciated and I know that Jerry will be beyond excited to just get behind the camera again.
