I am running my first marathon, the London Marathon 2026, and am raising money for Kamili, an organisation in Kenya that provides accessible mental health services in clinics across the country.
These services include diagnoses and treatment, as well as support for both the patients and their families. Kamili is also working hard within communities to raise awareness surrounding the symptoms of mental health, as well as the stigma.
Since Kamili was born in 2009, they have become one of the main providers of mental health care in Kenya supporting over 14,000 patients. They now have 156 nurses countrywide and have a further 147 in training. When their training is completed, Kamili will have clinics in all 47 counties.
I have been involved in supporting Kamili for many years, through the Family Challenge, my first half marathon a couple of years ago and now I am pushing myself again running a marathon.
