Relocation Troubles
So recently as those of you who know me have found out, I took a huge step and relocated to Owings Mills from a very small town in North Carolina, in a move that has been in the works at least mentally for at least a year. It was a move of around 500 miles and was very pricey, around 2 grand pricey. Which wiped out all my savings in start-up costs.
When I first left my job at the casino I worked for and began packing, I did so only because I had a job lined up already in dispatch. I just obviously hadn't signed the paperwork. Well right after I had hit the point of no return and resigned, and with moving day in less than 3 days, I received a call saying that the company was sorry, but that they had decided to go with a candidate who was local and could start immediately. Now I'm not naming names, I hold no ill will towards the company as I know they had to do what was best by their business model. But this left me in a bit of a bind.
Through the help of friends from North Carolina I was able to thankfully make my first months rent and expenses despite the job falling through. However finding employment has been much more difficult than I could ever imagine.
I have put in roughly 100+ applications and while I've had a number of interviews and have put in countless call-backs, I have not had any solid job prospects until this week. I have a second round interview that looks very promising and would start next week. Unfortunately that still does not leave time to build the money necessary for my August rent and utilities.
With my rent due on August 1st, I finally decided I needed to put my pride on hold for a moment and reach out and ask for help. My birthday is in 12 days, I turn 24 on July 27th. So I am asking any of my friends who have the ability to please donate money instead of gifts, or to just give to help me out a little. I will be taking this page down on July 28th along with anything I hopefully manage to raise so that I can attempt to pay my rent on time.
I hate having to ask, I really do. But I honestly don't know what else to do. My struggles to find employment have been a huge blow from left field that I was not expecting as I am a good worker and very hirable. But I honestly am trying my hardest. I would be more than happy to pay anyone back who wants it, just send me a message to that effect and as soon as I have steady income it'll be my first priority. I'll also happily send screenshots of application confirmations to anyone who would like proof of my job-seeking status.
The amount I'm asking for, $1000, is pricey. But it's the price of my rent + electricity/water. Anything I might happen to receive over that will go towards gas/groceries/insurance. And again, I'd be more than happy to provide the pertinent information from my rental agreement as proof.
Thank you everyone for your consideration, I still love you even if you decide you can't assist.
