I've never done this and told myself that I never would. But I'm out of options. I've worked hard my entire adult life. And I've stopped at nothing to provide for my family.
I've had bad knees and a bad ankle for years abusing my body trying to make a living. It's never stopped me but last November, the pain started catching up with me. But I pushed on until I couldn't anymore. I couldn't walk for more than 15 minutes at a time anymore without being in excruciating pain.
In May of this year, I had a daddy-daughter dance with my 5 year old and I could barely get thru it. I was in tears when I got home. So, I went on medical leave. I saw a podiatrist and an orthopedic surgeon over the course of 3 months and had 2 surgeries. The first one I had in July that reconstructed a torn and deteriorated ligament in my ankle as well as removed a ton of scar tissue and arthritis. The second surgery occurred 3 days ago. I had to undergo a knee replacement on my left knee.
Over the last 5 months, we've been denied short term disability, applied for social security benefits just to wait with no answer and my wife lost the ability to work as both our cars broke down with no way to fix either one. On top of all that, my 1 year old daughter developed neurological issues that ended us up in Childrens hospital.
Everywhere we turn, there is no money for assistance or we don't qualify for it because of no sustainable income. So here I am, begging to anyone who will listen. I am desperate. We are about to lose the home we have lived in and raised our family for 10 years and both of our cars to the bank. We have to come up with $4200 for rent to get us thru November and $800 for our cars.
We care for 4 children, 2 of them being young at 5 and 1 year old and they would be devastated if they had to experience homelessness. We would be extremely grateful for anything you can spare. I know times are tough out there.
