BMan Battles Sarcoma

Hi ~
My name is Lynne Thomas and I'm fundraising for my brother, Brent Robbins, aka BMan. Bren t was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in early 2021.
To say it's been a challenging year would be a gross understatement. He's endured six rounds of chemotherapy and five weeks of radiation in an attempt to shrink the tumor to a size that is operable. ~ with the goal to surgically remove the tumor.
Friends and family may know Brent and will know about his promise to our dear mother to get sober - that was 14 years ago this month. Tragically, Mom passed away from a massive stroke shortly after Brent made her this promise. When others would likely have "hit the bottle" Brent's mettle gave him the courage to say no! He is now a 14-year chip holder; something he is very proud of. We know that this same mettle he used to become sober has shown up once again enabling Brent to handle this diagnosis with incredible strength and such amazing grace.
Brent has always been a very dedicated employee and he is an extremely hard worker, who has always taken care of himself. He also steps up for others in need supporting fellow AA brothers and sisters and others. Never one to ask others for anything, he now finds himself in need. He's a very proud man and would never ask for anything from anyone. His friends and family are stepping up at this time to help him via this GoFundMe page.
Unable to work since early 2021 and having to wait months for Social Security Disability, he's exhausted his hard-earned savings. Due to these circumstances, together with other friends, I am establishing this GoFundMe page to help with his financial needs. I will use funds collected to pay for Brent's living expenses while his energy is focused on his surgery and recovery.
The surgery has many risks and will involve a three-surgeon team; it is scheduled for December 16, 2021 at Brigham and Women's in Boston. The surgery is extensive and projected to last 7 to 8 hours followed by an anticipated 10-day hospitalization and a six to eight week recovery and rehabilitation. Although it is very frightening, it is what Brent has worked so hard enduring chemotherapy and radiation for nearly a year to be ready for this surgical procedure.
Brent's goal is to beat this cancer and return to a normal life as a manager of a local sporting arena, but until then, he continues to have a huge battle ahead of him.
He is unable to make ends meet each month on his Social Security Disability, so until he is able to return to work, any gifts to this GoFundMe account would help him and would take pressure and stress off; allowing him to fully focus all of his energy on the difficult path of surgery and recovery.
We'll be heading to Boston on December 15th for his surgery on December 16th. Prayers and any financial gift you are able to give would be very much appreciated.
With love and gratitude,
His sister, Lynne Thomas (together with family and friends)
