Hello friends of BLUJAY and thank you for your caring support of this local business.
BLUJAY is a small business located in the beautiful Port Townsend Washington. We opened our small Kombucha brewery in 2017. In early 2018 we started vending at our local farmers market and then wholesale with local businesses by the end of that year. We are family owned and operated. We have always done our best to source as much of our raw products through local farmers and businesses. The quality of our product is very important to us. The goal is to create a bubbly elixir that both tastes delicious and also fizzes with beneficial probiotics.
The pandemic was a struggle for us all. BLUJAY underwent reconstruction due to the monetary inflation and availability of supplies during that time. With the pressures of maintaining the new business and hopes of expansion we have felt strain. We sincerely thank all of our local customers for their support through these times. In 2022 with the help of a small loan we acquired a new facility and started to build. In the summer of 2023 we started the BLUJAY KITCHEN project. This is a branch off of the company that focuses on mobile food vending. The Jefferson County Farmers Market and the THING Festival are some of the events we have attended this past year. This has been very well received by our community and has added an exciting element to our adventure. During our facility expansion our love of fresh, local, delicious cuisine inspired the dream of BLUJAY KITCHEN. With the newly acquired space and local interest we started formulating the plan for the fully equipped commercial kitchen. We love this community and feel deeply honored to share delicious, locally sourced food as well as drink. We look forward to continuing to serve the community in this way. As the space develops and funding allows, we hope to share this space with other local entrepreneurs with dreams of feeding the community. You can look forward to tasting the wonderful eats that have been coming out of BLUJAY KITCHEN at many events and venues this upcoming season. Starting in the near future we will be serving food out of Lila’s Kitchen on Friday evenings. You will also be able to find us at the Farmers Market, the Wooden Boat Festival, and many other local events. BLUJAY is taking the next expansive step. Starting this coming spring we are upping our production and furthering our distribution. Getting our Kombucha to a larger audience beyond the peninsula. We are currently working with vendors in Sequim, Port Angeles and Bellingham. Check out our social media accounts for a complete list of partners. We will be adding employees plus bigger and better equipment. Our goal is to build BLUJAY up to a place where it can consistently produce an amazing product while at the same time supporting the families we employ with a more than livable wage which inturn supports our community.
All of your support through this development is so greatly appreciated. Any other offerings of services and skills are also accepted and appreciated. We are putting together a thank you package for those who are able to support us in this way. This will consist of Kombucha and food vouchers, as well as early access to future BLUJAY merchandise.
