Normally, I'm telling stories with my music.
This year, I'd like to tell another story.
2016 was full of pain...
2017 will be full of beauty.
This story is about a young girl driving to her destination. The major theme of the film is death.
This year, I've learned that death is something that a lot of people don't like to talk about and, often times, have an even harder time dealing with. I wrote this story based on my own feelings and multiple recent experiences with death.
In two years, I've lost over five people that were very close to my heart and it took a toll on me earlier this year in the form of depression.
I'd like to be very transparent: my ultimate goal with this film is its acceptance into the 2017 LA Film Festival. The LA Film Festival is an event that I have dedicated much energy and time toward helping make a success for the past six years. I would love to contribute to this wonderful Festival in another way in 2017.
I expect production to take only two days and we are aiming to wrap production the first weekend of February.
There have been numerous people that have stepped up to help me on this project and I couldn't be more grateful!
I have a wonderful team thus far. Honestly, this is going to be a fairly simply and straightforward shoot. I am raising money to make sure that they are well protected and properly taken care of during the production of this short. (Also, I am looking to complete the team! *hint hint* Let me know if you're interested in being a part of this project!)
Where is the money going?
- Equipment rentals (25-35% of budget) - Meals for cast & crew (about 20 people) - Mileage for cast & crew - Filming Permits - On-Set Insurance - Props & Wardrobe - Festival submission fees (On average, $40-60/each)
