Tiny but mighty, that's our little Bluey! Monarch's Mutts Dog Rescue recently welcomed this incredibly small and fragile French Bulldog puppy into our care. At just nine weeks old and weighing a mere 0.7kg, Bluey was battling to thrive.

Vets at Cottage Spring and Willows suspect a persistent aortic arch, a condition where a remaining blood vessel is putting pressure on his oesophagus, making feeding a struggle. While initial x-rays and bloodwork support this, Bluey needs specialist investigation to confirm if a potentially life-changing operation is possible.

This journey will be long, carry risks, and sadly, come with a significant financial burden – likely running into the high thousands of pounds.

Right now, our dedicated team is carefully syringe-feeding Bluey a high-calorie diet, and this little fighter is responding! He's already grown from 700 to 930 grams. However, before any surgery can even be considered, Bluey needs to gain more strength and hopefully transition to solid food without regurgitation. He also requires essential care like worming, further blood tests, a crucial scan, and his vaccinations.
