The other night, however, just one week after a burglary left proprietor Ali Roth without a week's worth of funds, a masked gunman held the woman behind the cash register at gunpoint and demanded she empty the day's earnings. Needless to say, this traumatic experience has necessitated added security measures, and a significant financial hit for Blue Willow.

Unlike large chains, Blue Willow Teaspot is a rare woman-owned small business, and the costly insurance deductible does not cover the losses.
