After discovering the lucrative business of contemporary fine art, Tim sets off on a get-rich-quick scheme to create the most simple, most valuable piece of art he can. But his desire to create may lead him down a dark path as he is consumed by the artistic process, and perhaps something even more sinister.
Blue Square is a film that combines elements of cosmic horror and satire to amplify and contextualize very real, relatable anxieties of creativity and the artistic process. Although the main character, Tim, gets into art with less than genuine intentions, he experiences throughout the film stages of creativity that can be soul crushing at times: dealing with rejection, overanalyzing the flaws of your own work, imposter syndrome, and trying to find the one thing that makes your work "sellable", to name a few.
This will be a short film of approximately 20-25 minutes. It is being made as my Masters in Fine Arts thesis film. This will by far be the largest scale production I have ever set out on, and one that I am very excited for. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
