Ladies and Gentlemen,
My name is Craig Brown. Before I ask for your support I would like to share a little bit about my story and shed some light on why I feel called to volunteer for this mission trip.
I was born and raised in Georgia, so I'm a local boy. I have been attending North Metro Church (in Marietta) for a few years now. North Metro has made a huge impact on my life and I have developed so many great relationships over the last few years. Through North Metro I have found the most authentic, loving and supportive community I have ever experienced. I truly believe that everyone deserves to experience the same love that our Heavenly Father and this community has shown us. That is why I, along with about 15 other close friends from NMC, have volunteered to serve on this trip.
This Summer (June 23-30) my church will be partnering with Blue Skies Ministries to provide a weeklong beach retreat for families battling pediatric cancer. During this retreat these families will have an opportunity to relax, play, build community, have fun and above all take a break from the daily struggle of living with pediatric cancer. My job will be to create the best possible experience for these families by taking care of the daily chores like cooking and cleaning, facilitating fun activities for the kids and simply sharing the love of Christ with them.
This amazing retreat will be provided at no cost to the families, which means that the volunteers must raise funds to help offset the expenses. I need your support to help raise $5,000 that will enable us to be part of what God is going to do during the week of June 23-30. I'm beyond excited to see how God is going to move in our hearts, but we want to make sure you know our main focus is the families. All your donations will be used to ensure these families have an unforgettable experience and know that they are loved.
My team goal = $5,000. If 200 people donate $25 this goal will be accomplished. Any additional funds raised over $5,000 will also go towards Blue Skies Ministries.
If you are not able to donate I completely understand. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and just ask that you pray for everyone that will be involved in this event. Please pray for the families, the volunteers and Blue Skies Ministries.
