Hi family and friends. I am devastated to be writing this, but my boy Blue needs our help. Yesterday, I noticed a few symptoms and took him to the vet. He was soon diagnosed with a potentially life threatening disorder called IMHA.

Essentially, it is a disorder that causes the body to attack its own red blood cells. As his RBC levels continued to drop, I made the tough and costly decision to admit him to the hospital. They have started with steroid injections and a blood transfusion, but we have a long road ahead (if we can get there).

The prognosis is confusing to say the least, it can be caused by multiple different things and his odds continue to fluctuate. There is a possibility that he will continue to attack his RBCs, even with transfusions, but his best shot is staying at the AMC medical center and getting the amazing care there.
