Kevin was recently admitted to the hospital and was having his heart monitored. Their family has learned that Kevin is going to need to undergo a quadruple bypass surgery-- and if that wasn't enough, his kidney is failing. Kidney. Singular. He only has one. In an effort to help save his father's life, Kevin donated a kidney to his dad. The doctors are worried that Kevin's kidney will not survive the surgery and dialysis may be in his future.
*UPDATE: Kevin did undergo a triple bypass heart surgery and is in recovery. His kidney is hanging on but is not functioning very well right now. Most likely, dialysis and a transplant are in Kevin's future.
Because Kevin is Liam's primary caregiver, the family is going to need help finding suitable childcare for their son while dealing with what is sure to be a growing mound of medical expenses.
I have known Ann since college--we reconnected several years after college when she found out that I was then a Stampin' Up! demo and we have stamped and crafted with others in our community for years now! Through forums such as Splitcoaststampers and blogging, she has formed connections with so many of you reading this post right now. Ashley is one of these crafting friends Ann has made over the years and she contacted me with the idea of doing a Blog Hop because she knows how many of you are out there wanting to do something to help Ann and her family. If you are able to contribute, please know that any amount is appreciated and will help ease the financial burdens that their family will face in these upcoming months. If you cannot donate financially, please pray for Ann, Kevin and Liam. Keep them lifted up in your thoughts, maybe share this post--all efforts are greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much and please share with anyone who may want to help!
