Blocks Falling: Scratch Cabaret
Donation protected
Hi there! We're Rat Hands Theatre - the creators of an upcoming musical called Blocks Falling! It's a historical comedy about the creation of Tetris and its connection to the fall of the Soviet Union.
On the 29th of July, we will be staging a few of the songs in The Bedford, Balham - a gorgeous pub with a rich history of live theatre and comedy. The event will be free, with a significant focus on feedback and development, so if you're involved in music, theatre, comedy or just want to enjoy a night of new theatre performed by some incredible actors, please stop by and let us know what you think!
How will my donations be used?
Great question! The most expensive part of putting this event on is the cost of the venue and the rehearsal space. We're arranging for the performances to be professionally filmed so we can use the recordings to help with the marketing and production of the show! We also would like to cover the costs of travel/food/etc. for our actors and - provided we raise enough money - give them something in return for generously lending us their time and talent! Any excess funds will go towards the future development of the show.
How much should I donate?
As much or as little as you feel comfortable giving! We understand that people's financial situations vary, so we don't want to pressure anyone to give anything they can't afford. Still, we would be highly thankful for even the smallest donations!
So, like, do the blocks sing or whatever?
We get that a lot. As fun as that show might be, this is a historical comedy that focuses on the bizarre communist history of Tetris and the games industry in the 1980s. Sorry, no L-Block tap-dancing sequences.
Thank you so much for your time if you've made it this far! We're immensely proud of this weird little show we're working on, and we'd love to see you there!
Lots of love,
Rat Hands Theatre
