BLM Solidarity Fund

Donation protected

Hello!

This fund exists to leverage corporate money and networks in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and affiliated protest groups and bail funds.

The BLM Solidarity Fund will distribute donations to a network of people at donation-matching companies. These aggregated donations will effectively double (and in some cases, triple) the impact of each donation, and the creation of a central fund will allow for a constant stream of donations to come in even after individual employee donation caps have been met.

How it works:

1. Aggregate a list of willing participants working at donation-matching companies (henceforth DMCs):

These DMCs are typical big multinational corporations. Many smaller companies also provide donation matching - check with your appropriate corporate contact to see if your company does donation matching !

2. Use the BLM Solidarity Fund for donations:
This will be done via this Go Fund Me account. This fund exists to create a streamlined location to aggregate donations and to supersede any individual donation cap a company might have. It will allow us to spread donations among multiple DMCs and effectively maximize total $$$ sent to BLM groups, bail funds, and protest support groups.

3. Distribute funds and receive receipts:
Donations to the Solidarity Fund will then be redistributed to individuals working at DMCs, who will send off these funds to support black liberation/protest efforts. Receipts will be sent to the centralized fund email to ensure the appropriate organizations are getting their donations in a timely manner! All  receipts will be posted here for transparency.

4. Get in the streets:
You’ve donated money! That’s great. Now, if you can, get in the streets. If you’re not immunocompromised and you’re able to take part in a physical protest movement, get out there. Now is the time to work to dismantle a policing system that has been committing longform genocide on Black and Brown people from its inception.

IF YOU WORK AT A DMC and want to get involved, fill out this form - Thanks!
