Blitz's Paw Playground

Hello. My name is RoChelle. In October 2021, I received a call from my 15-year-old niece stating that she had been living without either of her parents and was sick and tired of doing it all. This "doing it all" included caring for and financially supporting 2 animals. One of those animals just went to kitty heaven; however, the other is still with us here on Earth. Blitz, a ten-year-old pit bull/bulldog mix, is now a huge part of our family...not to mention our long-haired dachshund's best friend.

On February 1st, we woke up like any normal morning, but would soon come to find out there was nothing normal about it. Blitz could not stand to go outside to go potty. He tried a few times before giving up and just laid there helpless. After a long and spendy day at the emergency vet (as this was a Saturday), we found out that Blitz had two bad stifles and a few bad discs. He is currently taking meds (twice/day) which helps him go about his day as normal as possible, but this is only a short-term fix as he will eventually become immune to the meds. There are custom-made braces that are available for dogs with stifle issues, but they are $500 a piece. The $500 covers the exam, the mold, and comes with a lifetime guarantee.

I have been a single mother of one daughter since 2006, and that changed when I took in my niece...now a single mother of two girls. Never once did my brother or his ex-wife offer to help financially with their daughter or the pets that once were theirs. I live paycheck to paycheck and can't afford braces for Blitz. My hope is that my online community will help me with the funding for these braces and that Blitz will have the opportunity to keep living the good life like he has since coming to live with us here in Plum City. Please help in ensuring Blitz's Paw Playground don't end sooner than later. Thank you!!!
