Need help with surgery for eyelids.

Hi! I'm Albert. I was named after Albert Einstein for obvious reasons. I was found by a rescue group called Catsnap in Champaign, IL. I was a lonely street kitten.  After being rescued, I was determined to be healthy and adopted by my humans that had other cat friends to play with. I am just under a year old, very happy and for the most part healthy, but I do have some birth defects. My eyes didn't develop properly and I can only see out of my left eye. My right eyeball is too small and doesn't function. I also am in danger of losing my left eye because my eyelids did not develop.

However, there is hope.  The doctors at University of Illinois small animal hospital believe they can build me an eyelid. This eyelid will enable me to blink without fur rubbing my eye. This is very scratchy and is similar to having something in my eye constantly. My parents try to help me feel better by giving me eye drops, but it's not a permanent fix. The new eyelid would help me keep my eye and protect my vision for years to come.

The surgery is expensive and my parents could use your help in getting it done. They want me to be comfortable and to be able to see pain free. They take very good care of me and give me lots of love, toys, and food.  With my new eyelid I could play with my new friends. So please help me be able to blink.

Our goal amount is the estimate for Al's surgery.  We pledge that any overage with be donated to Catsnap to help with their continuing efforts in animal rescue.

Thanks for donating.
