On Saturday March 14th, we made the difficult decision to close our doors due to the severity of the COVID-19 crisis. Our locations in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and Philadelphia will remain closed until further notice.
This is unquestionably the most difficult moment in Blind Barber's history. The depths of the emergency due to the COVID-19 crisis has put our business and community in completely uncharted territory. Blind Barber is built on the belief that there is great power in bringing people together over cuts and drinks, to enjoy community and conversation, to welcome any and all regardless of circumstance in life; but in this extraordinary time, we must prioritize the safety of our guests and staff. We are determined to get back to doing what we love as soon as it is safe to do so.
This has not been an easy decision to make. In fact, probably the hardest one in our 10 years of business, however, we want you all to know that we are doing this for all of us; we are a team. Everyone has been saying, “this too shall pass” and while true, it does not provide any reassurance to the stresses we are all feeling right now. We understand. Our belief though is that this course of action provides each of you with the resources and security to weather this storm and provides Blind Barber, as a unit, the opportunity to do so as well. The second we are given a green light to open those doors, sling those drinks and get some cuts going, we hope that you will all be ready to get back right into the action. We’re holding your spots.
As a result, we are kicking off this campaign to support ALL affected employees. All funds raised will be distributed to ALL employees in equal share. We ask anyone who can support the employees of Blind Barber to help in any way they can.
