Akoma Ntoso Foundation is reaching out with a hopeful heart with the story of Blesslord, a fourteen-year-old girl in rural Ghana who urgently needs open-heart surgery due to a life-threatening condition known as rheumatic heart disease. This stems from a complication of untreated strep throat that damaged the heart valves and is causing severe complications, including heart failure.

Blesslord is a bright, resilient teenage girl who has always been full of life and hope, despite growing up in an area where healthcare resources are very limited. However, over the past several months, she has been experiencing worsening symptoms of chest pain, palpitations, and difficulty catching her breath.

Without immediate surgery, Blesslord will not survive. The cost of surgery and related medical care is far beyond the means of her family, who are struggling to afford the necessary treatment.

The total cost of the surgery, hospitalization, and post-operative care is approximately $15,000, which is far beyond the family's means. This is where we need your help. We have found a generous donor who wants to remain anonymous who will match dollar for dollar all donations up to $6,500 during the month of June only.

We are asking for your support—no contribution is too small—to help raise the funds needed for Blesslord's open-heart surgery. 100% of the donations will directly cover her surgery and related costs.
