On October 11, 2018 after Hurricane Michael passed through Asheville, NC  a tree fell into the Bland's home.  Their daughter Katie and granddaughter Willow were in the home when the tree fell.  Baby Willow was taking a nap in the end of the home that was damaged, and her Mother was in the other end of the home.  She could hear Willow crying but she couldn't get to her.  She called 911 and ran outside.  A hero of a neighbor climbed into the debris and pulled the baby out to safety.  The tree stopped within 18 inches of the baby - she didn't have a scratch.  What a miracle!!!Red Cross stepped in and helped them  while they figured things out.  Greg and Tammy  Bland are both hardworking individuals, although they had insurance - there was a clause that did not cover the liability of the mature trees in the mobile home park.  Buncombe County came and evaluated the home and gave them permission to move back into the home if the damaged portion was boarded off safely and they gave them a 90 day window to repair the home to current house codes.  The estimate came in at around $16,000 and they would still be in the park with more mature trees that could fall.

They are currently living in the damaged home with their children Drew and Katie , and granddaughter Willow.  This portion of the home consist of 1 bedroom, 1 restroom, a kitchen and living room.

So God has placed it in our hearts to help this family by raising money to have them in a home in a safe park before Christmas.  This is our hope.  The Bland family are very humble and feel undeserving of such a gift -
but this is a family that has helped so many others along the way.  They are the kind of people who will always be looking for opportunities to 
pay it forward.
