Steve Potter's Medical Treatment
Donation protected
Steve was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2010 and was able to semi-manage his disease with several different drugs. Ulcerative colitis (UC) is an inflammatory bowel disease similar to Crohn’s Disease; it can randomly flare and become very painful. In March, his UC had flared to the point he was unable to work. By April, he was hospitalized with not much direction for a solution. After seven weeks in the hospital, many tests, and a full colectomy, doctors determined that Steve had Crohn’s Disease, not UC. He is now in a long season of recovery from the disease “poisoning” his body, with a goal to be able to return to work this fall. In the meantime, Steve is still traveling to Northwestern Hospital in Chicago for treatments, having home healthcare and physical therapy sessions. The Potter family has three young children. They need donations to manage medical bills and living expenses until Steve can get back on his feet and start working again.
