This Go-Fund-Me is created as a BLESSING for Minnie to relieve and reduce the existing medical burden she has endured this far. As many of you may or may not know, Minnie was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Cholangiocarcinoma and Endometrial Cancer in which it started out mild then subsequently spread throughout her body. Minnie's cancer journey began early last year when she developed unusual pain. Her doctor performed several tests and confirmed that it was cancer. F**k Cancer! Yes, [F**k Cancer]. Because of cancer Minnie had to go through a series of life changes. A change that no one would ever want to encounter. For those who have witnessed their loved ones go through it, would understand. Minnie underwent countless hours of chemo and radiation therapy at University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka for 1 year. Minnie was weak, tired, and in unbearable pain. She cried everyday. She curled up in a ball every night. She had a puke bag everywhere she went. This was Not the life she wanted.
Since the treatments that Minnie received did not improve her condition, her cancer had spread from her liver to her spine and into various of parts of her body. Within just a few months Minnie became nearly paralyzed suffering a neck strain. The cancer has now reached Minnie's spine and she is slowly deteriorating day-by-day. She has loss mobility in her right hand and suffering continued pain in her shoulder. Minnie is now on hospice because the treatment she was receiving was not showing any improvements. This means that the doctors cannot treat her anymore. There is nothing medically that can heal her and she is just counting down her days like picking off a daisy flower pedal.
Minnie became a widow about 4 years ago after she lost her husband and have 1 surviving child. Her daughter is now facing the loss of two parents and it's unknown how her daughter will handle it. Even as adults we all still need our parents for the smallest things like how many dose of cough syrup do I take? Or, how do I fix hard rice to make it more soft? It is unimaginable what the future will be like for the orphan-to-be...because, without both parents is like losing both legs. How would you get anywhere?
The medical professionals have estimated Minnie's time as 6 months to 1 year. Because of this short period, we have opened up this account for any blessings to help alleviate her financial burdens and prepare for her final day. Any and all contributions will go directly to Minnie and her daughter, Oddyssey. Contributions are also accepted via Venmo or PayPal.
