Blessing's For Happy Blackie, His Cancer Battle
Donation protected
Before his story, I just want to say that Blackie is a happy, overwhelming you with love member of our home. He joined us March 21st, 2020. He's roughly 6 years old.
In October I discovered a bump on Blackie's head. A visit to his vet for a biopsy revealed it was a mast cell tumor - which the vet said is a moderately aggressive cancer. A few other suspected masses were found. X-rays & labs were performed in November and thankfully there's no internal spread. Blackie has tumor removal surgery scheduled for Thursday, December 17th in North Ridgeville at Animal Clinic Northview. I'm asking for your financial help in whatever way you can to help defray our vet expenses. It appears he will require a night's hospitalization. If you could make a donation by December 18th - we would be very grateful and appreciative! Below are the low & high procedure estimates / costs. We thank you again for whatever you can do.
Blackie has been with us almost 9 months and it's like he's been here 9 years. His loving smiles and high pitched howls when he see's you first thing in the morning or when you return from work or a short errand just warms our hearts to whole new level - it still does. He's brought a happy infectious love to our home.
Blackie had a rough end to 2019. In late November the good people at Volunteers of Lorain County Dog Kennel rescued him near train tracks in Amherst. It was learned he had some special care issues so the good people at Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue were contacted and gladly stepped in. They took care of his needs and placed him with a foster angel named Patty who took him into her home in December. On March 21st, Blackie joined us, his new sister Gertie and it's been wonderful ever since. He truly deserves the best. He's our loveable lug!
