Blessings for Breanna

Donation protected

Most of you reading this probably know Breanna in some capacity. I know that people have abused Go Fund Me and ask when it is not necessary, but for Breanna, I ask you to take a minute and read her story:
Breanna is a 38-year-old mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. If ever any of us have been in need she has been nothing but kind and compassionate. Breanna has made the most of a disease called ADPKD. Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease. In layman‘s terms the kidneys develop multiple cysts that take them over. For many, this can be a grave situation. To understand this disease, I’ve included a link.

Breanna and her family have dealt with this disease for years, as it is a genetic disease. Her father succumbed to it at age 56 and her aunt at age 66. Her aunt had a kidney transplant and had done well until her kidneys failed during her diagnosis of COVID, as she had a compromised immune system. I remember Breanna being scared to find out if her daughter had inherited the disease that had caused her family so much pain. Kylee had some abdomen pain and was brought in for a catscan. I remember Breanna breaking down in tears as the image on the screen showed that Kylee was one of the lucky ones. Breanna stated that she would much rather it be her than her daughter. Many of us that have known Breanna throughout the years have known that the day would come that she too would need a transplant. The past couple of years have proven to be the toughest. Not only is Breanna having to endure all of the complications that come with this disease, we as her friends and coworkers, have had to sit back and watch a form of deterioration happen right in front of our eyes. This is our friend, our very, very dear friend.
In the past few months, Breanna has had to stop working, apply for disability, have multiple medical procedures done and started dialysis which will continue for three times a week until her transplant is set to happen on May 27th. One miracle, which I have no doubt will be the first of many, because prayer works, is that Breanna‘s sister, Crystal, is a match and is her donor! There have been many expenses, and there are many more to come. All resources have been exhausted and insurance is being maximized. We, as a group of family and friends of the Johnson’s are asking for any support that you are comfortable giving. Anything raised for Breanna will be used for travel and lodging expenses(transplant to take place at Barnes Jewish) medical not covered by insurance and unforeseen expenses that may arise. In speaking with Breanna, she is extremely emotional as the transplant date gets closer and in checking on her today during dialysis she said she was physically ill. Above monetary donations we are asking for prayers. Breanna is a special person to many of us. She is young and has a lot left to do in her life and we want to see her healthy! Thank you for reading:)
