Aloha Family & Friends,
Many of you personally know Bertram Kaeo, as a gentle giant, big hearted, lovable guy with a voice of an angel. He has touched the lives of many with his passion for singing, stage performance for family parties, gatherings or simple karaoke. For those of you who don't know Bert, he will give his last dollar or as they say "give his shirt of his back" to someone in need without hesitation but is to pride full to ask for help.
About 10 years ago, Bert was diagnosed with lymphedema (blocked lymphatic vessels) in his left leg (causing severe swelling)which affected his work performance as a truck driver forcing him to walk away from his job, while his wife went out and worked, leaving their young daughter to tend to him, the house & younger siblings. Since then, the growth has become so massive causing him to become unable to walk or stand for long periods of time, in & out of the hospital due to complications and leaving him bound to an electronic chair to get around. But, despite all that he is going through he continues to exhibit the most humble, compassionate, exuberant outlook on life.
Right now, he is in immediate need of funding to purchase a lymphedema leg therapy machine to help circulate the blood flow in his leg 3 times a week, and for medical supplies (compressor wraps, gauze, creams, etc.,) and bills. His family are also praying for the opportunity for he, his wife & children to be able to find housing that can accommodate his special needs & family size, and a new truck to haul his electronic chair and family around, if possible.
Most recently, they had a tragic turn of events when his wife suffered a stroke while cooking dinner, she collapsed to the floor and was rushed to emergency and was hospitalized for a few weeks. By the grace of God, she is home and recovering well.
In the meantime, he continues to patiently wait while seeking help from his doctor who is working at putting together a team of doctors that can perform this type of extensive surgery to possibly remove this massive growth. God Willing.
I humbly thank you in advance for all your generosity and support during this time of need.
May the Good Lord bless and keep you all.
Bernard &
Shannie Kaeo
