Thank you so much for everyone’s love support and prayers concerning Jason’s health issues. The month of October hit hard for him with unknown cause for extremely high fevers, joint pain, body aches, swelling in the joints and significant weight loss (30 lbs since 10/10/23). He was admitted into the hospital in Layton Utah on 11/2/23 and quickly transferred to a bigger hospital in Ogden Utah. Since then he has been seen by many specialists including; Rheumatologist, hematologist, oncologist and infectious disease doctors.
Throughout this journey they have all been stumped and have ordered many tests. In the hospital, he has continued to suffer in pain, fevers and difficulty breathing even with around the clock care and medication. Today, he had a full body PET scan which showed inflammation all over his body. They also found a mass in his left calf muscle. They did an additional ct scan and biopsy of the mass and we are awaiting results. So far, the only potential diagnosis that has been discussed by the rheumatologist is Stills Disease. We will hopefully have more answers by tomorrow. We are very thankful for our church families at Redemption Church - North Davis and First Lyman and our awesome neighbors for providing meals and covering us with prayers and for Elizabeth Enloe (nana) for flying across the country to come rescue her girls.
*****UPDATE *****The left knee was found to contain a cyst and infection. A quick knee surgery was done to flush out the infection.
11/15/23 Jason was able to come home two days ago…but he was taken by EMS to the ER this morning. He is having a hard time getting air into his lungs with rapid, shallow respirations, his blood pressure is all over the place, pulse is faint, and he has been vomiting. Mallory's is handling the girls' needs while Jason is in the hospital again. A quick scan showed. He had a lot of fluid around his heart. They were able to drain a liter off and he regained color pretty quickly. He is in the ICU as of now.
Jason is unable to work at this time and they don’t know when he will be able to return. Mallory is unable to work because when he is at home he requires complete care from her. Below are some ways that you can pray for them. I know it’s close to the holidays but if you are able to help them in a monetary way, that is a huge need for them right now.
Please pray for them:
- Pray for Jason's physical healing and for his spirit to be resting in God.
- Pray for the nurses and doctors who are caring for Jason to have insight and skill, and to see the fragrance of Christ in Jason and Mallory.
- Pray for Maci and Hadley. Pray for the Lord to cover them and guide them through these difficult days. Pray for their protection as others care for them while Mallory is with Jason.
- Pray for Mallory, for the peace and strength she needs. Pray for people to come alongside her and help her.
