Blessing Nolan through Brain Surgery

Donation protected
Hi All,

I have a son who is 22. My dear friend, Shelly, has a son (Nolan) who is 22. My dear friend’s son, at age 22 was diagnosed 10-12-23 with brain tumor the size of grapefruit on left side of his head.

Friends, stop and think about it. This a rock your world moment - like shake the foundation of your oldest child in need of a miracle. Life changes in a moment. Work stops. All focus turns on your son.

Nolan’s tumor has been slowly growing and has been there for several years, but he and his family were unaware until he had a seizure last week. Nolan did have emergency surgery due to pressure build up on his brain and more seizures - the medical team had to stop other medical tests and Nolan entered into brain surgery 10-16. He is in stable condition and the ICU team is carefully monitoring his progress. His breathing tube has been successfully removed and we’ve learned that the tumor is BENIGN!! What a miracle! Today, one week after surgery, Nolan was released from the hospital to go home! He is walking. His swift recovery is nothing short of a miracle and we thank God for his provision and care over Nolan and his team of medical professionals. There will be a road of recovery ahead and we’re so thankful for what has happened so far. Shelly has barely left his side to provide the comfort only a mom can offer.

Friends, not only has Nolan had a tough week, his mom Shelly is not able to work to provide care of him. He will need her. She has recently been diagnosed with MS this summer and managing her own health care needs using up sick pay and vacation time as she finds answers to increase her quality of health. While Shelly attends to all the needs of her family - she needs help filling in the financial gaps medically and at home.

Shelly has a heart of gold. This woman will stop and pray for anyone who needs it and set aside her agenda, she regularly gives her time to others, and has been a wise coach, mentor, and beloved friend to many. Shelly is a professional social worker serving the disabled and aging. She is also Restorative Family Mediator, she knows how to advocate for herself and she works to bring peace to others lives.

Let's rally around her and Nolan. Let's fill up her weekly and monthly needs with financial support so she can do what only a mom can do for her son who needs her care. We moms will do anything for our kids, let's help and bless Shelly do that for Nolan without the shocking financial burden that has hit their family so suddenly.
Thank you all,
Lisa Welter
