Hi, my name is Dana and I am fundraising for the Buford Family!
For any of my Lubbock/ TWC family you may recognize Nathan (or Nate) and his wife Bri from a few years back. Nate served regularly in the sounds booth and Bri very well may have taken care of your kiddos in KidCity.
Nate and Bri have two beautiful littles (Rhyanne and Matthew), whom Bri homeschools while Nathan is the primary financial provider for their household.
On August 9th, Nate was admitted directly to the Lubbock Heart Hospital for a pneumothorax (aka a collapsed lung) and underwent an emergency thoracotomy (the placement of chest tubes) on the 10th. Nate remained sedated and on a ventilator for a few days to allow him to rest and gain stability. He has successfully come off the vent, but since then this family has been on a roller coster as the doctors have been working to understand why this even happened. He has been working hard to recover, fighting discomfort, anxiety, and sleepless nights all while going through daily testing, bloodwork and even a cancer scare (that was thankfully ruled out). The current update is that they have discovered a fungal infection in his lung that, despite being on antibiotics, is causing continual issues and a reoccurring fever.
I think it is safe to say that most people recognize the financial burden that missing work causes, but then to add in the massive hospital and surgical bills that are on their way can be more than anxiety inducing. Recovery from this type of procedure is about 4 to 6 weeks, give or take, depending on the situation. As of today, Nate has been in the hospital for 17 days, unable to see his kids in person, with no real idea of when he will get to return home.
My goal in fundraising for this amazing family is to alleviate the financial burden as much as possible in order to allow Nate the room to recover properly once he returns home. All funds will go directly to the Buford family to use as needed in order to support their needs.
I encourage you, if you are looking for ways to be a blessing this is it. This family has barely told anyone about their current situation, let alone asked for help so I took it upon myself to create this for them. Whether you donate $1, $10 or $100, I assure you these are the ones to do it for. They are kind, welcoming and loving to all they meet and every single cent is recognized as a blessing and will be stewarded well. If you cannot give financially would you commit to lifting their family up in prayer?
Additionally, if you are looking for another way to bless this family, Bri has decided to start selling some of her photography to help bring in some income for their family during this time. You can view her website here to purchase artwork in a variety of ways.
Thank you so much for any and all contributions, financial or other.
Love to you and yours
