Hello everyone, my name is Sommer mother of Noah Rae O'Malley (micro preemie)I encountered a frightening high risk pregnancy at 20 weeks of gestation and I was diagnosed with fetal growth restriction, absent end-diastolic flow, and placenta insufficiency. The odds of Noah making it out alive were very slim and this was terrifying as a soon to be first time mother. I was hospitalized twice at 23 weeks and at 27 weeks I was told I had to stay living in the hospital for up to 32 weeks incase Noah were to come early. I was monitored very closely with nurses rushing in and out of my room frequently. Once I hit 28 weeks and 3 days Noah was born via C section. The doctors were unsure if they were going to be able to revive Noah (due to his small size) a whopping 430 grams which is 14.8 ounces. The doctors wanted to try and keep Noah in the womb at least until he was a pound but there was just too many scary signs that Noah would become a stillborn. His heart was dropping low between 60-80. A healthy baby's heart rates should stay between 110-160. By the grace of God, I was told that they were able to keep Noah alive and put an oxygen breathing tube down his mouth. This truly was the best miracle I could ever want. Now, Noah is in a long stay at the NICU and mom is trying to heal and staying at the Ronald McDonald house until baby Noah is well. Dad commutes on weekends to come be here with us. We are asking for any blessings to help for our little family. Whether that be medical expenses, gas expenses, food, bills, or special things for Noah and the family. Momma cannot work right now due to healing from a vertical and horizontal C section and is staying by Noah's side in Loma Linda California while baby is at Loma Linda University Children's hospital in the intensive care unit. Dad is no longer collecting overtime hours and taking a day off each week so he can be here with baby Noah and mom. Anything is appreciated at this time. It would help the family out as of right now we are going through a marathon for little Noah. It has been and will be a roller coaster that nothing in life can prepare someone for. More than anything though, we would love you're prayers and good thoughts for Noah. Thank you for hearing our story, and we hope to pay it forward as God is really testing our faith right now. We thank God everyday for our miracle baby.
