Bless Her Heart... please help the Lloyds!

On Monday August 1st long time Durango local, friend, wife, and mother Karanne Lloyd was admitted to the emergency room in Durango suffering from septic shock.

At that time no one could have imagined that less than a week later Kara would be life flighted to Denver with a serious abdominal infection that would require emergency surgery. Five weeks later our sweet southern girl remains hospitalized on a ventilator in the Porter Adventist ICU in Denver Colorado.

Kara’s dedicated husband Levi heads out at 5am every Friday to make the 6-hour trip to Denver to be by Kara’s bedside through the weekend. He then returns home late Sunday evening to parent and support the couple’s 14-year-old daughter Sunshine.

As family and friends cope with the stress and uncertainty of Kara’s medical condition and the long distance from home the bills continue to pile up. Medical bills, lost wages, travel expenses, hotels, the list goes on and on and add up to totals no one wants to imagine.

Many people in this amazing community who know and love Kara have asked what they can do to support her.
