Bless Barbara Lowe

On a cold day in December of 2021 Barbara Lowe heard words she never should have had to hear … “you have cancer”.  As a mother of 7, grandmother to 10 and wife to her husband of 26 years Mike, Barbara was used to taking care of those around her but the time quickly came that she had to lean on those close to her. More importantly than having cancer, Barb is a Deaconess at Bethany Baptist Church, President of the Nurses Ministry, a hospice nurse, she loves to read and sew and enjoying her grandkids. What comes to mind when thinking of Barbara is that she is a mother to all. She gives with her whole heart to everyone and anyone and is the true representation of an angel on earth.

 

Barbara has Stage 3 A Rectal cancer. She has recently undergone 8 weeks of chemotherapy for 5 and a half hours a day, 5 days a week. In early June Barb started radiation that will continue for 3 months which will be followed by a surgery. In addition to her radiation treatments, Barb is still taking chemotherapy pills 7 times a day and numerous prescriptions to battle the cancer within her body. All of her reoccurring scans, chemotherapy sessions, radiology sessions and prescriptions are costing more than $20,000 a month in medical bills. Upon finding out how quickly the medical bills were piling up, it was at that point, that we realized Barb needed help from our community.

 

Barb needs our financial help so that she can continue to spread her light to the world. She needs our help so that she can continue watching her grand babies grow and so that she can make an impact in not only our community but so many of our lives directly. It is not fair that Barb and her family have to fight this battle with cancer as well as the battle with medical bills, please join her army and help us help her fight against these beasts.
