Like many bars and restaurants in NYC we were forced to close Monday March 16th at 8pm due to (very valid) concerns about the spread of COVID-19 and the global crisis we are facing. We had to lay off our wonderful staff with virtually no notice or time for them to prepare or save.
Our staff is scared. Plain and simple. And while we have fears for the future of our business, they pale in comparison to the fear and concern we have for our dedicated staff and their ability to get through this with no income coming in. We employ over 25 amazing, kind, generous humans who are worried about losing their homes and feeding their families.
We are asking you, now for help. Every dollar you give will go directly to our bar staff to help them through these very uncertain times. I am asking you. If you have reliable income and the ability to help, we very much appreciate it. If you have ever had a bad day and one of our bartenders or servers listened and gave you a space to feel better, a free drink, a shoulder to cry on, a birthday made special, please consider helping today. Our porters work very hard to keep the bar clean, our barbacks do the often back-breaking work to keep ice cold beer in your hands and our security staff keep us and all of you safe and secure. And our dedicated management team keep it all together, day in and day out. We would love to be back doing this again and we will the moment we can. Thank you for your help.
