Until now, Mike has been blessed to maintained a job and support himself through all the difficult and straining treatments and surgeries he has endured these many years.
Mike underwent a bone marrow transplant on April 30, 2014. This requires years of convalescence and inability to work - pushing himself during this time can put his body at risk of rejecting the donor material. His insurance company recently denied his long term disability benefits. He is appealing the decision, but the appeal process is long and tedious and this leaves him with Cobra payments of $500 a month and other living expenses to be paid monthly until he recovers and can once again return to work.
Mike has always been such an inspiration of hope and optimism to his friends and family - No matter the struggle he always has a smile and an uplifting word to help others. Now it is our turn to help him in his time of need.
Mike, along with his family and friends, pray that God will continue to see him through these times as he has so many times before.
If you are able to make a donation, no matter how small, it would make an amazing difference for Mike as he continues this ongoing fight. Please share Mike's story with your friends and family, and help us make a difference!
