Blankets, Life, Love for Wendy

Hello!  Our sister Wendy Nelson has a very special birthday coming up on December 17th!  She will be turning 45!  One of the reasons why it is such a special birthday is that she is the oldest female still alive in the United States who is living with A-T (Ataxia-Telangiectasia) a rare genetic disorder.  Life expectancy varies for people with A-T.  Children who have it are usually confined to a wheel-chair by age 10 and often don't survive their teens.   A-T causes progressive loss of muscle control, immune system problems and a high rate of cancer.    Wendy has beaten some of these odds by making it through her teens and not being confined into a wheel-chair until about the age of 20.  She went onto college and also lived on her own for almost 20 years thanks to several supports helping her.  Wendy now lives in a home where she is getting the help she needs.  Unfortunately the symptoms are progressing and she has now gone through breast cancer but she is a survivor!  She lives day to day and takes part in activities the home provides.  One thing that she enjoys doing and can do is folding the towels for the homes use.  There are many, many people who live there so there are many, many towels to fold. ;) 
One other hobby of hers is making fleece tie blankets!  She told me she has made about 50 some tie blankets and gives them away as baby gifts, sells them at the craft shows the home puts on and also gives them to little kids with A-T all over the world (Thanks to Pamela Digby)! 
What I'm asking of you is to help give Wendy the opportunity to keep on living and making tie blankets, one of the few things she can still do on her own thanks to a special tool a friend gave to her a few years back!  I figured each blanket is roughly $40.00.  My goal would be to earn enough money for Wendy to make "45" more blankets.  I would love to give her the wonderful news on her 45th birthday coming up on the 17th!  I will share all comments that are given on the go fund me page!
