BLANE (The Movie)

Blane Bostock is one of America's weirdest fathers. He made a promise to some angels in the 1970's. This is his story.
I'm his son, Michael. Ever since I can remember, people have been telling me I should make a movie about my dad. Now that he has prostate cancer and a few other notable health problems, I figured it's time to help him tell his story in full. And it's a doozy!
In this race-against-time docu-dramedy, we'll follow the creative genius through his daily routine as he recounts a life of unbelievable tales, opening up about his dreams, his nightmares and a life changing promise to some other-worldly spirits. Not to mention a psychological deep-dive into his many character flaws [hi Pops!].
Act local: This project will benefit everyone who knows Blane and loves him. He's a treasure in his local community and his kindness, artistic fire and uproarious lore extends deep into the hearts of friends around the globe. By documenting his twilight years we'll all have a record of one of the most beautiful human beings ever to walk the crust of this moldering loaf.
Think global: Not only will the Blane-loving community benefit from your contribution, but so will the world. We're aiming for Cannes, people! Sundance! The Moon! It's time to see a positive father/son relationship committed to the silver screen. He's so weird! And talented! He's gifted me an inheritance of spiritual riches even though, to use his words, he's my "Dollar Store Daddy." Blane's unique tale of a life well-lived will inspire artists and normies alike for generations to come.
We're a family of artists, so naturally we need money. Your contribution will most directly benefit ME as a filmmaker as I try my hand at longer narrative cinema. This is something I've always wanted to do and if it goes even sort of well, I plan on producing more films before I eventually find my own place in the sands of time. But I can't do it with crappy equipment. I mean I can [and I have been] but it SUCKS and I can't focus on telling a great story when my Chinese-made tools keep breaking during production.
We need $3500 for re-enactments, a better camera, lighting, editing software, festival entry fees, possible hired hands and all kinds of unforeseeable technical stuff to make this a smoother production. As stated, this is a race-against-time situation so... we need the funds ASAP!
Your support will greatly improve the quality of life for Blane as he gets to wrap up some loose ends [full disclosure: his cancer is not life-threatening, I'm just tugging your heart-strings for dramatic effect] before he fulfills his duties to the aforementioned spirits. This film will outlast us all and hopefully serve as a monument much more exciting and glamorous than any headstone could ever be.
Thank you for your donation and we'll see you on the moon!!
