Blanca’s Battle

Mother of 2 and unemployed accountant Blanca Brindley was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2018. While receiving the cancer diagnosis with her doctor, she experienced a heart attack. Fortunately she was already at the hospital, and was able to receive medical care immediately. Since her diagnosis, recovery has been an uphill battle. Blanca’s heart is only functioning at 40% capacity, which has affected her chemotherapy treatments. In addition, Blanca’s physicians determined she has hypersensitivity to the chemotherapy treatments. Since her stage 2 diagnosis, she has undergone 3 different chemotherapy treatments in hopes of finding one her body can withstand.
A skilled and experienced accountant, Blanca has not been able to work since her diagnosis and has exhausted all of her financial resources. Since November, her 2 daughters have been able to assist with some of her finances. Unfortunately, it isn’t enough to cover all of her mounting expenses during this difficult time.
Blanca is currently undergoing review for SSDI (Social Security Disability)—which is notoriously difficult to get approved. If SSDI is granted, it will only cover approximately 4 months of rent and her monthly bills. Blanca needs financial support during the remainder of her chemotherapy treatment, during her recovery post-surgery, and during radiation treatment (she will undergo surgery and begin radiation treatment after the completion of her chemotherapy treatments). Ideally we would like to pay a portion of her rent ($600), and her monthly utility/car payments ($300) for the next 12 months (total $11000).
Throughout Blanca’s life, we have seen her overcome struggles and adversity. She is a fighter and a survivor. She survived a serious heart attack in 2014 that required 6 months to fully recover. She continues to fight a battle with diabetes, and continues to successfully manage it despite her additional health problems. Like any past ailment or adversity, Blanca believes she can beat this—and her track record and doctors agree.
We are asking for your love and any financial support during this difficult time.
