Welcome to the go fund me support page of Blake King, the first coastie to be selected for the Australian Gridiron team who will compete at the Gridiron World Championships held in China July of 2016. It is our aim to raise $5000 to get Blake to China, the $5000 raised will pay for his flights and accommodation which is being organised by Gridiron Australia.
Blake has dedicated the majority of his high school life working towards a career in American Football, known as Gridiron or NFL. Blake trained for two years before being of the acceptable age to play in the Junior ranks of NSW competition. He made the switch from Rugby League to Gridiron at the age of 14 and has never looked back. Blake has attended numerous camps with specialised American coaches and in 2015 he was the youngest player to represent NSW at the state championships held in WA. His commitment to training is inspirational even to his older brother who is his personal trainer and a strength and conditioning coach.
Like most of us, he is from a working class family and we all know the costs of kids sports: safety equipment, training, and getting around the countryside. To date Blake’s family have been able to provide this for him however, as he grows as a professional athlete, so does the cost of the sport. This trip gives Blake the opportunity to be seen on the world stage pushing him towards his ultimate goal of making the NCAA College Football. Our 1st payment of $1,500 is due 24th April, 2nd payment of $1500 due May 21st and Final payment due June 11th. Please get behind him. Let's help another local put Central Coast on the map!
A huge thanks to all our supporters, it’s amazing for Blake to receive so much encouragement, this will surely help will him towards glory on the field. Thank you to Daniel C. Dacker his Sprint Coach who has been a big help with developing Blake's technique in becoming a faster more agile player. Thank you Impact Centre for providing Blake with a years free membership worth $700 and thank you to Uncle Vic owner of Great Divide Tours for your generous donation.
Please share our campaign via face book and we ask you to encourage others to do the same. Any donation big or small is deeply appreciated.
