Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,

On September 9th, baby Blakely Florez entered the world through an emergency C-section, bringing hope and love to her family. However, her arrival also brought unexpected medical challenges. Shortly after birth, Blakely was closely monitored for biliary atresia, a rare liver condition, and unfortunately, a liver biopsy and cholangiogram confirmed the diagnosis.

To give her the best chance, Blakely was flown to Salt Lake City for a Kasai procedure—a vital surgery to buy her precious time until she may need a liver transplant. Since then, her journey has been anything but easy. Blakely requires weekly doctor visits, several medications, and several hospitalizations. Due to a recent infection, she had to return to Salt Lake City to have a PICC line placed for ongoing treatment as well as an NG tube placed. She will continue to have treatment and in-home care until she is strong enough to undergo a potential transplant.

This has been an incredibly trying time for Blakely and her family. Between the emotional toll and the financial burden of medical expenses, travel costs, and time away from work, they are in need of support.
