Blakely's Humanitarian Trip to Tanzania
Donation protected
It has long been a dream of mine to travel to Africa and make a positive impact in some way. An incredible opportunity has come up for me to travel to Tanzania with some amazing friends, in partnership with their very own non-profit, Mosaic International Ministries. Their organization centers on empowering and equipping leaders, pastors, and artisans in third world countries through support, training, and networking.
One of the major focuses right now is supporting a local Tanzanian man who has developed a way of filtering otherwise undrinkable liquids into fresh, life-giving water. The best part is his method can be utilized in the most underdeveloped and remote villages of Africa. Clean drinking water is something every human should have access to and this organization is helping make this possible. Another exciting venture is bringing solar lights to people in these remote villages. This allows children the opportunity to study for school, after the sun has gone down, and saves families precious money on expenses like kerosene, firewood, and candles.
My time in Tanzania will be focused on bringing these filtration systems and solar lights to people in need, and the funds raised through this campaign will go directly towards making this possible. All of your generous donations will pay for travel to and from Tanzania, customs fees, food, and lodging for 10 days. My hope is to utilize any remaining funds towards the purchase and personal delivery of additional filtration systems/solar lights to as many people as I can.
I'm hoping to have enough funds to book my plane tickets by the end of April, and the goal is to be "boots on the ground" in Tanzania by the end of June/early July.
This trip has truly been a dream of mine for over a decade and to have it come to fruition would truly be a life changing experience for not only the people we can help, but for me as well. I thank all of you in advance for all of the support in this remarkable opportunity. (All pictures below are from previous trips orchestrated by Mosaic.)
