Help Blake with medical expenses
Donation protected
People are always asking us how they can help and tell us to reach out if they can do anything.
Right now our budget is tight. Blake is teaching fewer classes. I’m getting my master's to offer us more options if he needs to go on disability at some point. We’ve hit our max out-of-pocket for the past two years on medical expenses and our plan resets in September. We’ve spent a lot of additional money on other health-related purchases as well as just day-to-day expenses.
Currently, there are two things we are hoping for that are out of the budget.
The Aspen Pain and Spine clinic has seen an 80% success rate in improving long COVID symptoms in patients by administering a stellate ganglion block to help reset the nervous system. It will cost $1500 dollars and our insurance has denied covering it.
Additionally, we are looking to purchase an electric wheelchair lift to make it easier to load and unload Blake's wheelchair on days that he is tired after work as well as to make it easier on days that it is raining or snowing. Being able to bring the wheelchair into the van will help protect it against the elements and prevent us from having to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van as well. Right now we have an external scooter carrier attached to the back of our van like a cargo carrier. This electric wheelchair lift is $4556.
Any excess funds would go towards paying off additional medical bills and purchasing an additional wheelchair to make the outdoors more accessible for Blake. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any contributions. We really appreciate it!
