Blake Reese Heart Transplant Fund

Donation protected
I want to take a minute and introduce you to my friend Blake. If you are a friend, family or relative of  Blake there's not much to explain, but if you are just reading this let me tell you a thing or two about this amazing guy.

Blake is a buddy of mine, but more important he is a wondeful husband to his beautiful and creative wife. He is also an amazing dad to his charming and also beautiful daughter Bree.  Blake enjoys building hand made drums, being  outdoors whether its at a music festival with his wife, getting his daughter out in the woods who is his #1 partner in crime, or even his employment working on building streets and roads.

Blake is the kind of guy that most men strive to be but right now he has a situation that is threating his livelyhood and health. Blake had a heart attack earlier this year in October due to rare genetic disorder that affects how his blood clots. I don't know if I mentioned this before but Blake is also one tough guy. He survived the initial heart attack, but since then his heart has not been so fortunate.  Blake recently underwent surgey in St. Louis at Barnes-Jewish Hospital to have an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assistive Device) placed to assist his failing heart. If you are unfamiliar with this device it's literally an artificial heart that will help keep Blake's heart going until he's able to recieve a heart transplant.

Here's where we need your help! Although the surgey was a success and Blake is currently recovering in the intermediate ICU, he still has a lot to do to make a full recovery. Blake is currently on the national organ donor list and waiting on a new heart. It will be during this waiting period where financial donations will be needed to help his family out.

Blake, even though he wants to get back out and work as soon as possible, will probably not be able to for some time. The lack of his income plus any out of pocket medical expenses, such as travel, gas, hotels, and any unexpected events can add up quick.  I just want to stress that any size donation will help tremendously and in honor of Blake's humbleness that if you can't donate please sign up or register to become an organ donor. It will not cost you a dime and you could make a huge impact on someones life.  Here is the link https://www.organdonor.gov/index.html

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and an extra special thank you if you donated! We will keep you updated on his progress through the site and please share this with as many folks as you can!
