UPDATE

Blake lost his battle last night and went home to be with the lord, funeral arrangements are pending at this time.

My father-in-law, Blake Nelsen, of Council Bluffs IA was recently diagnosed with stage 4 non-curable cancer that has both lungs covered in tumors. It has spread into both arms as well as the lymph node system. He will start chemo soon. He went from a strong, healthy man to barely being able to breathe in a matter of a couple of months.

Blake is the kindest, gentlest man I know. He would literally be the first person to offer help to someone and wouldn’t hesitate to give the shirt off his back.

Blake is a proud man that would never ask anyone for help. The long road has begun and the medical bills and expenses are piling up. His wonderful wife, Lynn, and his two daughters, Rebecca and Jennifer, as well as myself, will be doing everything possible to help them through this incredibly difficult time.
