Blake Michel Fights Cancer #MichelStrong

My name is Jenifer (Michel) Smith and I’m fundraising for my 6 year old nephew Blake Michel and his family. Jacob Michel is my baby brother. The Michel family wants to fundraise to help support Blake’s ongoing medical expenses.

Jacob and I wanted to update you all, since word about our devastating news is starting to spread. On Friday, November 26th, we had to take Blake to the ER because he lost all function in the right side of his face. While there, he got a CT scan done where they found a soft tissue tumor on the right side of his skull. We were admitted and after multiple tests, an MRI and a biopsy of the tumor, the doctors confirmed our worst fear. Cancer. Blake was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS).

On Monday (Dec. 6), Blake will have surgery to place his port. He will be admitted to start chemotherapy immediately. We have the first 12weeks of chemo scheduled while we wait for additional biopsy results to come back.

We are completely shattered, shocked and blindsided. And we have a very long road ahead. BUT WE ARE READY TO FIGHT, AND FIGHT HARD!

Blake is in great spirits and in no pain at this time.
