PLEASE Help the Cuvillier Family.
Blake Cuvillier is a School Teacher in Lafayette, LA. He is married to Samantha (Brasher) Cuviller, who is also a Lafayette, LA school teacher, and they have a beautiful Daughter, Eloise, who is 20 months old, and Samantha is 7 months pregnant with their second child.
As many teachers do to make ends meet, Blake has a second job as a carpenter, and makes cabinets and furniture.
On Wednesday, December 21, just 4 days before Christmas and on his first day off from the School system, Blake suffered a horrific accident. His left hand was caught in an industrial planer, and he completely lost the 4 fingers of his left hand to the palm.
He was airlifted to the level 1 trauma center in Alexandria, LA 95 miles away, where a hand specialist performed surgery to close up the wounds.
This young hard working family now finds themselves with many expenses from the Airlift, medical expenses from Surgery and 2 days in the hospital, as well as the future expenses of physical therapy, follow up Dr. visits, and hopefully at some point, prosthesis for his injured hand.
They have health insurance, but the total deductables and out of pocket expenses have already topped $5,000 and climbing. On two teacher's salaries, and with the loss of his second income for the time-being, this is a huge financial burden for them to bare.
My goal is to help relieve them of as much out of pocket expenses as possible, so that Blake can get the therapy and medical help he needs, and to get Blake at least a start on purchasing a prosthetic hand, which can run in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Please help this young, hard working teacher family survive this terrible tragedy. You cannot imagine the burden that this blessing will lift from this family, or how grateful they would be for any help you might provide.
Sincerely,
Jeff Brasher
