Hi, my name is Estelle, I’m a full time student and part time nanny studying community services. I’m on Centerlink so I really don’t have much to give. Blaize is my 6 month old Dachshund puppy. She loves going to the park and running around with other dogs, but unfortunately was involved in a freak accident with a cyclist. The cyclist ran over her twice and she’s fractured her back and requires surgery. This happened after the monthly Dachshunds in the Park meet up.

her surgery will cost 28k and after combining my annual limit on pet insurance as well as my own savings, I still will not be able to pay for her surgery and post op treatment such as physiotherapy. If she doesn’t get this surgery she may be paralysed for the rest of her life. She’s my whole world and I’ve only had her for 4 months. She deserves a happy healthy and long life like any other dog. Any help is appreciated. I understand times are tough.

UPDATE: firstly thank you to everyone who has donated you have no idea how helpful this has been. At this point we have decided to see if Blaize can heal on her own for the next week because there are concerns for the high risks associated with the surgery and the complications that can occur which include complete paralysis of the body because her injuries are so close to her spinal cord and major aortic valve, if an error occurs In surgery. If she is unable to heal on her own we will have to go through with the procedure. At this point in time the funds that are being raised will be used for Blaizes on going medical treatment, medications, physio therapy and comfort. We are still working towards raising money to help with the ongoing costs the will be occurring. Thank you all for your support.
