Blair Wilkinson
Donazione protetta
As many will know, Blair was involved in a very serious accident on Tuesday 31st July whilst riding his motorbike to work. Suffering critical, life threatening injuries, he was transported to the Alfred Hospital and put into an induced coma. His injuries include a fractured pelvis, a badly broken arm, tendon damage to his knee and a bleed on his brain (which was operated on immediately and relieved).
He has since had a few more operations and is now awake, but he still has a long long way to go in his recovery, including further operations and expected extensive rehabilitation. As time goes on, we are sure that there will be many extra costs that can not be fully envisaged at this stage.
We would like to support Blair, his partner Jenny, his two boys aged 15 and 10, and his sister Mandy, during this time by raising money to assist in paying the high costs that they will be facing. Costs including traveling to the hospital, parking, food and all the other incidentals.
We also hope this will assist in taking care of Blair's dog, Storm, who he loves dearly. Storm is currently in a kennel, and we would love to be able to facilitate him being able to return to live with Blair as soon as he is released from hospital and rehab. Being an Akita (a Japanese bear hunting dog), Storm is very powerful and is accustomed to be being walked 2-3 hours a day .... and is a bit of an escape artist!
Blair has worked within the Emergency Services area as a first responder for the past 12 years , and was previously in the Australian Army for many years, with numerous overseas deployments. Blair has spent his life serving his country and his community. It is now time for us to support him and his family.
