My 32-year old son, Blaine Gerkin was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident on 11/11/21. Anyone who knows him knows how hard-working, independent and supportive he is to others. It pains me to write out his condition, but he really needs your help.

By the grace of God, Blaine survived the accident. His motorcycle crashed down off a 200ft cliff. Blaine was able to crawl back up, but his injuries are atrocious. Unfortunately he completely shattered his right arm, leg and knee. He has already had multiple surgeries to no avail.

He has medical insurance; however, his deductible is 7k. Due to the fact that January is just a few weeks away, he will have to meet the deductible again very soon. Currently, his insurance has refused to cover the occupational therapy and physical therapy needed for his recovery. Doctors are unsure how long to expect for his recovery.

Unfortunately, due to his injuries, Blaine is unable to work. He is a welder by trade and heâs unable to walk or do anything including hygiene and daily living skills without total assistance. This has greatly impeded his finances. He still has rent and his regular bills as well. He cannot lose his home. His entire life is greatly impacted by this unforeseen circumstance. We are grateful that he survived, but he does have a long road of recovery ahead of him.
