Hi, my name is Gebriela Ayanna, I am reaching out for your help in my housing . Due to my circumstances, I've faced housing instability for some years. I am passionate about the arts and hope to create documentaries based on embracing my oromo roots and turning to knowledge as power. Your donations will aid me towards housing security and support in creating a life where I stand in my independence. I have endured extreme burnout, isolation and anxiety for over several years due to my financial barriers and ongoing living situation. My post-secondary scholarships ended and my covid grants I have had no access to additonal financial aid and I have had to sublease my apartment. Most of my personal belongings from my apartment have all been removed, I've had to give up much of what I own. Your donation would go to the purchase of cloth for clothing, and long-term housing security. The strenuous hours of employment have pushed me to be highly isolated and face extreme difficulty socializing. The immense pressure of being financially independent since my housing was no longer covered has led me to neglect my mental health. I am 23 years old. Your donations will also help me with my early career in film, digital production equipment based in my hometown Minnesota and near my other family in Washington DC. I am constantly fighting for my right to a career post-graduation while developing my own path for film and video production, interdisciplinary design and theater studies. I am asking for help in continuing to fight for the necessity of black griot spaces during this time. I am inspired to apply the same commitment of high standards toward my future of film directing. As an aspiring director, your donations will help me cultivate myself and capture the world through my eyes of compassion. As I am telling the story of how knowledge is power I am hoping to travel and include the voice of my beloved immigrant family's renaissance in changing the Narrative and creating documentaries where our faces are attempted to be erased. My independent study and course work have lacked financial support from outside resources and my time of advocacy due to my housing situation.
