Black Women Writers in Europe Retreat

Hello,

We're Joy and Jeannetta, two Black women fiction writers who live in France and Denmark.

We are co-hosts of the premiere retreat and workshop for fellow Black women writers who live in Europe and the UK.

With this undertaking, we hope to offer a long weekend where writers can focus on their craft, have their pieces workshopped, and enjoy time together, building community, at an affordable cost.

The "affordable cost" part is where we need your help!

We've crunched the numbers and have gotten the cost to a reasonable amount for participants, but an important part of our mission is AFFORDABILITY. We want to lower the cost even more!

We are not profiting from this. As co-hosts, we plan to pay the same amount to attend as the six participants we will select.

Your donations help to cover the expense of lodging, transportation, and food. We are also seeking corporate sponsorships to make sure that we can keep doing this for years to come.

Writing takes immense courage. No one should do it alone. Living abroad sometimes means you have little to no community. While some luxury writing retreats for Black women exist, there are no workshop/retreats specifically for Black women writers who live in Europe. Your donations will help us change that!
