The Black Mythology Project uses art to center the collective memory and imagination of the Black Diaspora. By reimagining history, we envision a world where every Black person can design a future reflecting their highest ideals. By redefining our relationships to our mythologies of the past, we free ourselves to create new communal stories that root us in unconditional belonging and love. With an award-winning vision, the Black Mythology Project is first focused on platforming Black artists in Nashville, Chicago, and New York City.
Through a magazine creating a unique visual language for Black memory and resistance, a digital website focused on interactivity and web-based engagement, and in-person experiences that invite participants into new relationships with their memories, we invite each other to accept our pasts, take off our masks, and find new stories that sustain our commitments live toward the dignity and worth of all.
